Running Reports

• Use a familiar environment to access your reports. Our report explorer is similar to SmartList.
• Store reports anywhere on the network, in any number of locations.
• Run reports from any Great Plains or Third Party window, or from the Crystallizer Report Explorer.
• Create batches of reports and direct the entire batch to a single destination or select output settings for each report individually.
• Choose to run a Crystal Report before, after or instead of the built-in Great Plains Report.
• Run Reports against the current company or against the system database for cross-company reporting.

Security

• Assign access to reports at a variety of levels in an easy-to- use interface.
• Select users individually, in groups based on Great Plains user classes or all at once.
• Users will only see the reports and categories they have access to.
• For an added level of security, Crystallizer utilizes the existing SQL Logins in Great Plains.
• Choose which controls appear in the Crystal Report Viewer (buttons, drill downs, navigation) to customize the view for different user needs.
• Crystallizer runs within the logged-in users security context. It does not rely on any embedded security information in the Crystal Report.

Report Caching

• Crystallizer caches reports locally. Each time a report runs, the local cache checks to make sure it is the latest version of that report. Benefits include:

• Crystallizer Caching eliminates the normally imposed limitation of 20 concurrent users.
• Reduces the load on the network, allowing quicker report executions and less lag time to run a report.

Report Parameter Management

• Crystallizer supports all standard parameter types, including discrete and range parameters, as well as group and selection formulas.
• All available parameters are automatically detected when a Crystal Report is added. Parameter names, data types and parameter types are instantly added to the Report Maintenance Screen.

Parameter Mapping

• Map the reports parameters to any valid parameter input (listed above).
• Map reports parameters to a Great Plains form field or to any kind of lookup or predefined system value.

Input Values To Parameters

• Crystallizer allows for many different ways to define the parameter values that are passed into the report to accommodate a variety of needs:
• Predefined system values such as Current Date, User ID, Company Name, and a variety of additional date values.
• Built in Great Plains lookups such as Customer, Item, Vendor and many more.
• User-Defined Static Lookups - Crystallizer allows you to create and maintain an unlimited number of lookup lists of values and descriptions.
• User-Defined Dynamic Lookups - Crystallizer allows you to define and maintain lookup lists that are based on any existing database table or stored procedure.

Parameter Security

• Lock down all parameters so that user cannot change values that are being passed into Crystal Report.
• Selective Parameter Locking - Select which parameters you want to lock.  User can change some but not others!

What is Crystallizer Unleashed? The Unleashed client allows you to provide Crystallizer functionality to non-Great Plains users while continuing to perform all administration from Crystallizer Classic within Great Plains. Have you ever wanted to make your Great Plains Crystal Reports available to non-Great Plains users? Crystallizer has always made it easy to distribute reports to Great Plains based users but now with Crystallizer Unleashed you can also distribute those reports to non-Great Plains users.

The unleashed client has all of the same capabilities as the report explorer in Crystallizer Classic and it looks just like the Great Plains based report explorer that you are used too! There is no learning curve. Start it up and you will recognize it as the same screen from Great Plains. If you want to run your Great Plains Crystal Reports from a second PC and you don't have Great Plains installed than just install Crystallizer Unleashed, start it up and log on with your Great Plains user ID. It's that simple.
